Energy Efficient Heater

Find an energy efficient portable heater, energy saving electric heater, or an energy efficient space heater. Keep your electric bills low with energy star.

When you are at home during the colder months, there is nothing that makes you feel as good as a nice warm room to relax in while you avoid the cold weather outside.  But as good as it feels to have that warmth, it hurts when you see how much it costs at the end of the month.  There are a few things that you can do to reduce the amount that you spend on heating up your home or office before it is too late and that bill has arrived.

When you are setting the thermostat, bear in mind that the higher you set that temperature, the higher your utility bill is going to be.  So try to set it at the lowest possible setting that will allow you and others to remain comfortable.  But try not to leave it at the same setting when nobody is home.  Now when you leave you should not turn the heat completely off.  Rather, adjust it to a lower setting.  If you turn it off completely, any costs that you save will be offset by the price that you will have to pay to heat the whole area when you get home again.  So try a relatively low setting but don’t turn the heater off completely.  By paying attention to the temperature setting you will be able to reduce your electric bill by a considerable amount.

Space heaters are a great way to keep warm and save money at the same time.  Rather than heating your whole home or office even though some rooms are not even being used, you are able to concentrate the heat where you need it.  In this manner, you are getting the warmth you need where you need it but you are not being forced to heat a much larger area.  An energy saving heater can save you money on your utility bills because you can set the thermostat to a lower temperature but still get the warmth you need.

When it comes to saving energy, space heaters can do the job if you use them properly.  Most space heaters now come with built in safety features.  They shut off if they get too hot or are left on for too long.  They also have an automatic shut off feature if they should get knocked over.  So the new models of energy saving heaters are generally quite safe in addition to being efficient.  So you can rest assured that you will save money and not sacrifice your safety or the safety of those around you.

Standard space heaters will save you some money but you should always look for energy efficient heaters as they will save you much more in the long run even though they may be a bit more pricey at the store.  If you think that you will maintain the heater in working condition for several years or more then you will see the savings add up as compared to the traditional models that you may be used to.
