Energy Efficient Technology

Find information on energy efficient technologies, clean energy technologies, going green technology and more. Keep up to date with emerging energy efficient technology.

Electricity demand continues to grow in America and abroad.  As we develop and acquire more and more products that require electricity, and as we continue to have more and more items in our homes and offices, we continue to require more energy to power all of these items.  In order to keep up with this demand, the US and other countries need to increase their ability to provide more energy to consumers.

For many years, efforts have been made to improve upon existing technologies and to develop new technologies that will serve as alternatives to traditional fossil fuel.  Developers are constantly searching for the energy efficient technology that will reduce our reliance on fossil fuels which are becoming more expensive and scarce as the clock ticks on.  Some progress has been made in various areas and we will give a little overview of a few of the energy efficient technologies that have seen some success in recent years.

Solar Power

This energy efficient technology uses the light generated by the sun to provide electricity, heat, and light for homes and offices.  There are currently many efforts underway to try to make the cost of providing energy produced by solar energy technologies competitive with traditional fossil fuel technologies.

Wind Power

Energy is produced by wind turbines which convert the power of the wind into reliable electricity.  The wind industry in the United States is working hard to try to make it a competitive energy source within the next few decades.  The use of this energy efficient technology results in a major reduction of carbon emissions.

Water Power

This alternative is still in the early stages of development in the United States.  To date, this technology has comprised a very small percentage of the overall energy production in America but it has the potential to make up a much larger percentage in the future.

Bioenergy

In an effort to reduce the dependence on oil in the United States, this budding industry has presented viable alternatives to fossil fuel.  If successful, this industry can have a major impact on the environment and on cost savings for Americans.  These technologies seek to convert biomass into energy that can be used to power cars and homes and serve many other functions.  This technology is still in the early stages but the potential exists to have a large impact on the broader industry.

Geothermal

This is another technology that remains in the early stages of development.  The goal is to use the heat that is naturally produced by the earth as an energy alternative.  This alternative has a minor impact on the environment, but if harnessed properly, it can produce energy at all times of the day.

The world of energy efficient technology is vast and the potential for growth is truly remarkable.  If success is found in any of these areas, energy production as we know it can be changed forever.  It is simply a matter of research and development and time and hopefully these technologies will emerge as leaders in the energy production industry.
